The Jackson Malia Fund for Children with Special Needs is a non-profit 501(c)(3)organization dedicated to helping sick and hospitalized children and their families in New Jersey.

The Fund grants gifts to select organizations and individuals that will provide financial and emotional support to sick and hospitalized children and their families, as identified by the Board of Directors. The Fund provides assistance to help them meet their financial demands not covered by medical insurance.

The Fund assists as many families as possible, and in all cases, one hundred percent of the money donated goes directly to meeting their needs.

The Fund provides assistance that is rarely given by other organizations. Some examples include, but are not limited to:

- Providing transportation costs to patients and their families
- Purchasing gift cards for groceries, clothing, bedding
- Providing holiday meals for hospitalized patients and families – Purchasing items to ease the trauma and boredom of a long hospital stay including laptops, iPods, toys, books and art supplies for young patients
- Providing funds to celebrate treatment milestones and birthdays while in the hospital
